Fourth meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) inter-parliamentary union of the member states opened in Istanbul on Wednesday, Trend reports.
The conference` s major objective is to address the western countries to unite in the islamophobia fight and show respect for Islam. It also demands the UN Security council to adopt a special resolution in connection with the recent Cartoon crisis that was caused by the publications of Mohammed cartoons in some mass media

Representatives from 48 OIC member- countries and heads of 10 regional and international organizations will take part at the conference organized by the Great National Council of Turkey. A group of MPs from the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis will also take part at the conference.
The OIC inter-parliamentary union was created in 1999. Its third conference took place in Senegal in 2005, RIA Novosti reports.
