A grant project of Japanese gov't in Azerbaijan ends

A project implemented as part of the grant program of the Japanese government in Azerbaijan, came to an end. The opening ceremony of the project on reconstruction of the Sangachal Community Kindergarten which the frameworks of Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Grant program will be held at the Sangachal settlement of Gadaragh region of Azerbaijan, the Japanese embassy told Trend.

The grant contract of the above-mentioned project had been conclude between the embassy of Japan and World Vision International on 29 July 2005. The scale of the project is US $92,900. The aim of the project is to improve quality of education, in crease the number of children enrolled in pre-school education and provide opportunities to children to spend their times usefully.

This grant program started from 2000. Including the project this rime, so far 74 GGP projects at the amount of 4,697,00 USD have been implemented in Azerbaijan. The projects are directed at the development in the sphere of public health medicine, elementary and secondary education, social protection and environment, poverty reduction and increase of incomes. Since the independence of Azerbaijan the assistance by the Japanese government summed up $693. 60m.
