Arrival of new Russian ambassador Vasily Istratov to Baku is delayed for some technical issues, Trend reports with reference to Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan.
The embassy officials said Istratov is arriving no July 10 as he was supposed to but a little bit later. By the end of July head of Russian diplomatic mission will surely take up his duties, embassy officials assured.
The post of head of diplomatic representation of Russia in Azerbaijan remained vacant since September 2004.
Vasily Istratov, 52, historian, worked as director of North America department with Foreign Ministry of Russia since 1996.
