OSCE Head Flies Down in Tbilisi to Assist in Regulating Conflict between Russia and Georgia

On October 2, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht left for Tbilisi to assist in regulating the conflict between Russia and Georgia, Trend Special Correspondent in Tbilisi reports quoting OSCE Tbilisi Mission.

On this eve, Karel De Gucht called for Russia and Georgia to find, as soon as possible, the way out of the conflict situation. I call for both parties to respect the principles of the international laws, refrain from any provocation acts, to hold discussions and find a rapid solution, mentioned in the statement of OSCE Head.

I will stay in touch with all parties to achieve these goals, Karel De Gucht emphasized.

On October 2, Karel De Gucht will meet with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
