The President of BP Azerbaijan, David Woodward, stated Р'Р  Azerbaijan has fully completed the testing of the South-Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) in the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia to the border with Turkey. The test of equipment on TPG-500 platform, which will deliver gas under the first stage of the Shah-Deniz field development, in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian, is also complete. The first gas will run from the field in the subsequent two weeks.

During this year, 300mln cu m of gas will be produced from the field and this volume will be distributed among Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. At present the share of sides is unknown, because it will depend on the readiness of the national system of the countries to receive gas. In case any of the countries turns out unable to receive gas, it will be redistributed.

Woodward noted, that the company has not received an appeal from the Turkish company Botas, an operator of the construction of the Turkish section of the pipeline, on the admission of gas for testing the pipeline. The gas is in the border with Turkey, Woodward noted.

Next year approximately 5.6bln cu m of gas will be extracted from Shah-Deniz.
