Realization of another Project Implemented at the Expense of Japanese Government

Implementation of another project realized in Azerbaijan at the expense of the Japanese Government has been completed in Azerbaijan, a source in the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan told Trend. According to the Embassy, on December 8, an opening ceremony of the new building of the general education school built within the implementation of a grant programme of the Japanese Government - Human Safety and Roots of Herbage is expected to be held in the village of Artura of the Astara District of Azerbaijan.

The agreement on the implementation of the project was signed between the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani NGO The World of Woman in December 2005. The total value of the project is $90.000. The project is directed to improve study conditions of 400 children.

Programme Roots of Herbage supports projects considered for improving the living conditions of Azerbaijani people and implemented by the municipalities, medical organizations, and non-governmental organizations. These projects have been implemented in Azerbaijan since 2000. Within the programme Roots of Herbage, totally 74 projects have been implemented. The total budget of all the projects has reached $4,7 mln.

Since the time when Azerbaijan proclaimed its independence, Azerbaijan has received an aid at the amount of $700.000 from Japan.
