The Head of the Public Relations Department of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, Jonathan Henick, stated that USA stands ready to assist in the possibilities of strengthening the Azerbaijani border controls, Trend reports. According to Henick, for this reason, the Deputy Assistance for International Affairs of the U.S. Customs and Border Defense Service, Odri Admas, made a 4 day visit to Azerbaijan.
During the visit, the U.S. representatives visited customs points Shirvanovka, Samur, Bara and Ipak Yolu and held various negotiations, including one with the Head of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC). Debates were organised on developing the co-operation and possibilities of providing technical assistance to Azerbaijan in the area of customs and border control. According to Henick, in this field, the collaboration between USA and Azerbaijan is at a good level. But we wish to strengthen it further, he said.
