State Veterinary Service:     Azerbaijan   Has Nothing to do with Appearance of ‘Bird Flu’ Near Moscow

Azerbaijan , Baku / corr. Trend S . Babayeva / The State Veterinary Service at the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry refuted statements on by Russia on possible spread of 'bird flu' near Moscow through import of exotic birds .

"These statements are groundless. Azerbaijan does not export exotic birds to Russia and the point is that there is no 'bird flu' in Azerbaijan ," the State Service announced. ," the State Service announced.

All veterinary border services are conducting inspections to prevent the penetration of the virus into the Country. The ban on hunting, the sale and use of wild birds, as well as the import of poultry from countries where there has previously been cases of the 'bird flu' virus, is still in force.
