Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The sixth conference of Astara district department of ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) took place, NAP Press-Service informed. The Chairman of the department, Aliheydar Hamzayev, delivered a report on the works done since the fifth conference. He stressed that the department actively participates in realizing the program tasks of the party and social-economical development of the country. The department brings together 3680 members. In addition, reports were made by the control and inspection commission and mandate commission.
The conference was also attended by the members of the NAP Political Council, MP Mirkazim Kazimov and Kerim Kerimov and Head of Astara Executive Power Mahir Guliyev. In their speeches, they spoke about the history of the party, as well as tasks facing the members of the party in 2008 presidential elections. The composition of the department was confirmed comprising of 39 people and Natig Ibadov was elected Chairman of the department.
At the end, the conference participants made an appeal to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
New Azerbaijan Party was created in 1992 in Nakchivan by the deceased ex-President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. Presently NAP is chaired by Ilham Aliyev.
