OIC Council of Foreign Ministers to Adopt 3 Resolutions on   Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Sabir Rzayev, the third secretary at the Azerbaijani embassy in Pakistan, said in telephone talks that three resolutions on Azerbaijan will be adopted at the 34th session of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The foreign ministers of OIC will adopt two resolutions condemning the Armenian aggression with respect to Azerbaijan and the destruction of cultural and historic monuments left in the Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani territory. The third resolution, which will be adopted by ministers, is of an economic nature.

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will represent Azerbaijan at the gathering. He is expected to depart for Islamabad this evening [14 May]. The session will be held under the chairmanship of the Azerbaijani foreign minister who will hand over office to his Pakistani counterpart.

According to the diplomat, along with participants at the gathering the Azerbaijani foreign minister will hold meetings with Pakistani officials. He is scheduled to meet with the Pakistani foreign minister, Khurshid Mahmoud Kasuri, as well as the foreign minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Pakistani President Perves Musharraf is expected to receive the participants of the session.

Rzayev announced that the Azerbaijani delegation to Pakistan lead by the Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadygov is to make arrangements for the 34th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
