Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / MP Sabir Rustamkhanli, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Citizen Solidarity Party, stated on 6 June that citizens of the independent Azerbaijan Government must refuse from the surnames endings in "-ov" and "-ev".
"Imomali Rahmanov, the President of Tajikistan, refused from ending -ov in his surname. We are independent Government and our surnames are one of the attributes of our sovereignty," Rustamkhanli added.
