Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Several colonels of the Central Police Department of Baku City at the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry were dismissed from their position due to gross violations. It was reported during the meeting considered the results of police work for the first quarter of 2007. Haji Mahmudov, colonel and chief of personnel Department, Natik Agayev, colonel and chief of the Department on drug issues, Saleh Alakparov, colonel-lieutenant and chief of the Department on fight against organized crime were dismissed. Disciplinary punishment was undertaken against 11 policemen. Yashar Aliyev, deputy chief of the Central Police Department, has stated that violations revealed during the functioning of the Department, will be settled in near future, as well as all relevant measures will be undertaken.
Ramil Usubov, Azerbaijani Interior Minister, made a speech during the meeting. The Minister gave recommendations to police, as well as touched upon conduct of police.
