Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was awarded an honorary doctorate in political sciences from the University of Jordan.The university degree was presented to Azeri President during a special function on 29 July attended Chief Chamberlain Prince Raed Bin Zeid, Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit and senior government officials.President Aliyev, who arrived in Amman earlier on the day in an official visit to Jordan, paid tribute to the advanced level Jordan has accomplished in the field of education under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II."King Abdullah has made from Jordan an oasis of security and stability despite the turbulent events in the region, said the Azeri President, who also outlined stages of development in his country including the implementation of economic, political and social reform plans.
