Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / Regular meetings of leaders of Azerbaijani opposition parties does not mean the establishment of an organization or bloc, the head of the central administration of the Musavat Party, Arif Hajily, said to Trend.

The heads of the Musavat, Azerbaijan Democratic Party, Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Azerbaijan Social Democratic Party, Taraggi Party and Public Forum for Azerbaijan have been holding regular meetings and discussions regarding social and political issues for several months. Several parties have described this format of meetings as a consultative organization.

This has nothing to do with a new association of the opposition, Hajily said. In his opinion, there are no prospects to turn such meetings into a union, as the participants of the meetings are all from other organizations and working in different directions. "During these meetings we drink tea and talk," he said.

The opposition Musavat party was founded in 1992. The head of the party, Isa Gambar, was Azerbaijani Parliament's Speaker in 1992-93 and run for presidency in 2003. The party is represented by an MP group in the Parliament.
