Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Congress of the Azerbaijanis Communities in Belarus intends to open an Azerbaijani Sunday School in Belarus, the Congress's Chairman, Natig Bagirov, reported to Trend. He said that according to unofficial data, more than 100.000 Azerbaijanis reside in Belarus. According to Bagirov, 50-60.000 Azerbaijanis reside in Belarus on the base of permanent registration.
Bagirov said that due to the absence of the permanent registration, in some cases Azerbaijanis are deported from Belarus, but not in a massive scale.
"Generally the foreigners who follow all laws in Belarus have not any problems. Belarus is not Russia and
oppression of the Azerbaijanis does not take place here," Bagirov said.
According to him, after mutual visits of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Belarus, the relations between the two
countries and attitude towards the Azerbaijanis in Belarus have further improved.
