Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April / Trend corr. R.Ergun / The former coach of Azerbaijani National football team believes that Berti Fogts, the German coach, cannot change most in football in Azerbaijan.
"The German trainer has assumed a very difficult role and will be faced with difficulties. As we do not have such opportunities, Fogts will be unable to change much in the national team. I believe that he will only be able to improve 10% within the team," Shain Diniyev, former coach of Azerbaijani national team stated to Trend .
Diniyev coached the team during ten games in the last Championship tournament in Europe and the Azerbaijani national team scored 5 points.
AFFA and Fogts reached an agreement to manage the team until summer 2009.
Diniyev supported the fact that Fogts did not participate in the Council of coaches, which was established to aid national teams. "The Council of coaches is not efficient and I did not participate either when I was coach," Diniyev said.
Diniyev said he was upset that the strip for the national team was changed again. "The public recognize top teams for their strip. However, we change the team's strip almost every day. It is absolutely wrong. The new strip does not advertise the colors of our flag.
When Diniyev was coach for the Azerbaijani national football team, they defeated Finland with a 1-0 score but were then defeated by Ukraine 0-6, Poland 0-5 and Serbia 1-6.
Diniyev believes that Fogts will have to utilize the support of footballers-legionaries during the Premier League in Azerbaijan.
Diniyev left the team in March after his team was defeated by Serbia with a 1-6 score.
