The flag of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) was passed on to Azerbaijan during the closing of the championship in Vienna.
The flag was given to the vice-president of the Azerbaijani National Federation of Gymnastics Altay Hasanov, as a sign that the 2014 European Championship will be held in Baku.
2014 European Championship in Gymnastics will be held on June 13-15. The competitions will take place in the Olympic Gymnastics complex that is being built and which will be completed by the time of the start of the competitions.
240 gymnasts and 80 officials are expected to participate in the European Championship in rhythmic gymnastics, which will take place in the capital of Azerbaijan.
It should be reminded that the Azerbaijani team in rhythmic gymnastics has completed participation in the 2013 European championship in Vienna with silver medals.
Junior team of Azerbaijani gymnasts has phenomenally performed in the finals, gaining quite high points from the referees - 16.55.
This result allowed Azerbaijani gymnasts to win silver medals.
Azerbaijani individual gymnasts also performed in the all four finals of the 2013 European championship. Marina Durunda (fifth place) showed the best result.
