BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. A criminal investigation has been opened on the death of two Azerbaijani servicemen as a result of a mine explosion in Aghdam, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan said, Trend reports.
On September 24, the Military Prosecutor's Office of Agdam received information that as a result of a mine explosion in the territory of Azerbaijan's Agdam district, soldiers Akram Shadmanov and Tural Seyidov were killed, and Elvin Aliyev got injured.
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported that on the basis of the information received, preliminary procedural checks were carried out by the staff of the Department of Criminalistics and Information Technologies of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan and the Military Prosecutor's Office of Aghdam.
"A criminal investigation was initiated in the Military Prosecutor's Office of Aghdam under articles 29,120.2.12 (attempted premeditated murder motivated by national, racial, religious hatred or enmity) and other articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Witnesses were interviewed, appropriate examinations were appointed and other necessary investigative actions were carried out,” said the ministry.
According to the ministry, the investigation is ongoing and all measures will be taken in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
