Arrested journalists of Azerbaijani Newspapers May be Released - Senior State Officer
Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / The five journalists working for Azerbaijani newspapers, who were taken into custody, may be released.
Making this statement Ali Hasanov, the Head of the Public Policy Department of the President's Executive Administration, stressed that the release of the journalists should not result in their disregard for the law. The Azerbaijani authorities are attempting to create normal relations between the media and the public.
Hasanov stated that in some cases, the media representatives have put themselves above the law and shown disrespect for the public and rights of citizens which has led to trials and conflicts. "What we should achieve in the future is that the journalists take into consideration the rights of citizens and the population should regard media reports with tolerance," he emphasized.
