Congress of World Azerbaijanis’ Council’s Functions to be Transferred to Its Executive Board

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad reported on 3 July that the Council's functions of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis will be abolished during the 9th session of the congress which will be held in Cologne, Germany on 7 - 8 July.

The annual report on the organization's activities will be head of the session, as well as changes to be made in the structure of the Charter. In compliance with the new Charter the Council of the Congress will be abolished and its functions will be transferred to its Executive Board. The Executive Board will implement functions of legislative and executive bodies.

The Congress of World Azerbaijanis chairman will head the Executive Board.

Nazim Ibrahimov, the chairman of the Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, the MPs of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) and representatives of Azerbaijani intellectuals will attend the conference.

Since 1997 the Congress of World Azerbaijanis has held eight conferences and several international meetings.
