Azerbaijan launches work to develop agriculture in liberated areas

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 7

By Fidan Babayeva - Trend:

The work has already begun to develop agriculture in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Inam Karimov said.

Karimov made the remark at a video-format meeting dedicated to the results of 2020 chaired by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Trend reports on Jan. 7.

“The ministry together with Azercosmos OJSC also mapped actual arable lands in the liberated territories on the basis of satellite images of perennial plantations,” the minister said.

"Presently, the preliminary work has begun to sow plants on these lands, as well as to take agrotechnical measures to care for perennial plantations," the minister said.

“This year, taking advantage of the reforms in the agricultural sector, the ministry will focus on strengthening the advisory and information service of farmers, increasing the availability of services, applying innovative methods and, of course, restoring crops in the territories liberated from occupation,” the minister said.
