Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover has increased from January through June 2021, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this indicator exceeded $14.65 billion, up by 24.7 percent compared to the first half of 2020.
In the structure of foreign trade turnover, more than $9.2 billion accounted for export, which is a 5.2 percent rise on annual basis. The share of exports in the trade turnover amounted to 63.2 percent.
During the first half of this year, Azerbaijan's imports have exceeded $5.3 billion, increasing by 11.1 percent compared to the same period of 2020. The share of imports in the external trade turnover made up 36.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the balance of foreign trade turnover remained positive despite lowering by 7.7 percent - to 3.86 billion manat ($2.27 billion) year on year.
