Türkiye reveals cargo traffic volume from Tunisia via local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. The ports of Türkiye handled 1.2 million tons of cargo from Tunisia from January through August 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 128,030 tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 1.1 million tons from Tunisia to local ports.

During this period, 660,396 tons of transit cargo were transshipped from Tunisia to Turkish ports.

The domestic ports handled 33.4 million tons of freight in August 2022.

In the reporting period, cargo movement through local ports by ships flying the flag of Türkiye totaled 2.38 million tons, whereas by ships under the flags of other countries equaled 31.05 million tons.

In August 2022, ports of Türkiye delivered 6.2 million tons of transit cargo.

A total of 264.6 million tons of freight were transferred by Turkish ports in the first eight months of 2022.

During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 18.9 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 245.69 million tons.

From January through August 2022, Turkish ports transshipped 54.03 million tons of transit cargo.
