BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. The return on assets in the insurance sector of Azerbaijan amounts to 5.8 percent as of June 30, 2022, which is 0.6 percent lower than the same period the previous year, Trend report on October 19 via the report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) on analysis of intersectoral financial flows.
"Assets in the insurance sector amounted to 1.4 billion manat or $823.5 million (an increase of 11 percent) as of June 30, 2022. In the structure of assets, the main part falls on government securities and investments of insurers. A total of 77 percent of the assets of the insurance market are formed by the investment portfolio, 36 percent or 526 million manat ($309.4 million) - state securities, 29 percent or 424 million manat ($249.9 million) - funds in the banks, 6 percent or 84 million manat ($49 million) - investments in non-state securities, the rest is other investment assets," CBA noted.
According to the CBA, the volume of bank deposits of insurers for June 30, 2022 is estimated at 379 million manat ($233.5 million), the balance sheet of the insurance market - is 489 million manat ($287.6 million) and the total capital - is 298 million manat ($175.2 million)
