BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Azerbaijan’s industrial enterprises and sole proprietors manufactured products worth 73.3 billion manat ($43.1 billion) from January through October 2022, down by one percent compared to the same period of 2021, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Meantime, production in the oil and gas sector declined by 2.1 percent, while in the non-oil sector – rose by 5.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021.
From January through October 2022, 76.4 percent of industrial production accounted for the mining sector, 19.9 percent – the manufacturing sector, 3.1 percent – on the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.6 percent – on the water supply, purification and waste treatment.
Furthermore, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 5.5 percent, whereas commercial gas production grew by 8.6 percent in the same period of 2021.
Increasing production of building materials in the processing industry totaled 14.9 percent, in the chemical industry – 3.8 percent, in the metallurgical industry – 5.4 percent, cars, trailers and semi-trailers – 81.7 percent, pharmaceuticals – 16.9 percent, electrical equipment – 41.4 percent, furniture – 32.9 percent, clothing – 37.6 percent, paper and cardboard – 17.2 percent, machinery and spare parts – 45 percent, computer and optical products – 10.3 percent, finished metal products – 43.3 percent, metallurgical products – 9.9 percent, rubber and plastic products – 6.5 percent, food products – eight percent, as well as lumber and products thereof – 10.5 percent.
From January through October 2022, textile production edged up by 30.7 percent, leather and its products – by 59.9 percent, oil products – by six percent, tobacco – by 2.4 percent, and drinks – by 4.2 percent compared to the same period of 2021.
The production volume in manufacturing, distribution, and supply of electricity, as well as gas and steam, rose by 3.5 percent. Moreover, production in water supply, waste treatment, and processing grew by 5.7 percent from January through October 2022 compared to the same period of 2021.
