BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. Azerbaijan invested about 1.067 billion manat ($627.6 million) in the first quarter of 2023 in the restoration of territories liberated from Armenian occupation, the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The ministry highlighted that this is 35.5 percent of the total amount worth 3 billion manat ($1.7 billion) of funds planned for investment in the restoration of Azerbaijan's Karabakh.
"More than 1.042 billion manat ($612.9 million) were allocated to the financing of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, while funds worth 13 million manat ($7.6 million) were allocated to Azerbaijan Amelioration and Water Management OJSC for the creation of irrigation systems. Funds in the amount of 5.5 million manat ($3.2 million) were also allocated from the state budget to Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action," the ministry added.
Moreover, the state budget surplus in the specified quarter of the current year amounted to 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion). In addition, state budget revenues amounted to 8.2 billion manat ($4.8 billion), while expenditures reached 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 billion).
