BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23. The port of Mersin (Türkiye) handled 23.7 million tons of cargo from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, ships under the flag of Türkiye handled 1.3 million tons of cargo through the port of Mersin during this period, and ships under the flags of other countries - 22.4 million tons.
The ministry reported that from January through July 2023, the Turkish port of Mersin processed 157,804 tons of transit cargo.
In July 2023, 32.5 million tons of cargo were transported via Turkish ports overall.
Additionally, during the same frame, 2.5 million tons of goods were transported by ships flying the nation's flag through domestic ports.
Ships flying other flags transported 30.1 million tons of cargo through the ports of Türkiye.
In July 2023, Turkish ports also handled 6.1 million tons of transit freight.
From January through July 2023, Turkish ports handled 227.03 million tons of cargo.
Furthermore, cargo transportation by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 16.8 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 210.2 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 41.1 million tons of transit cargo from January through July 2023.
