Azerbaijan discloses allocated budget for economic activities in 2024

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 29. Azerbaijan's state budget for 2024 envisages the allocation of 7.78 billion manat ($4.58 billion) for financing under the article "economic activity", Trend reports via "Citizen's Budget Guide," published by the country's Finance Ministry.

A sum of 20 million manat ($11.77 million) will be allocated, specifically for the procurement of licensed software for government agencies, the establishment of the "Government Cloud" (G-cloud), and covering expenses for corresponding services for institutions connected to this system.

Furthermore, 54.4 million manat ($31.98 million) will be aimed toward enhancing the capacity of the country's tourism infrastructure and promoting tourism activities in the areas.

An allocation of 10.3 million manat ($6.06 million) is designated for financing the Business Center of the Alat Free Economic Zone (FEZ), 15.1 million manat ($8.87 million) for stimulating non-oil exports, eight million manat ($4.7 million) for maintaining Azerbaijan's trade representations abroad, and 42 million manat ($24.7 million) for the production of new-format identity cards and biometric passports.

Along with above figures, 100 million manat ($58.8 million) is planned for financing economic support measures, 26.3 million manat ($15.47 million) for expenses associated with the organization of state property privatization and property rights protection, 15.1 million manat ($8.8 million) for compensatory payments related to problematic individual loans, and the remainder for other purposes.

Previously, the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2023 allocated 1.24 billion manat ($705.8 million) for financing under the article "economic activity."
