Volume of investments in construction and installation works in Azerbaijan in 2019 amounted to 11.2 billion manat ($6.6 billion), which is 65.4 percent of the total investment in the country, Trend reports referring to a report on the activity of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers in 2019 submitted to the country’s parliament.
During the reporting year, the volume of construction work carried out by construction organizations amounted to 8.9 million manat ($5.2 million), which is 12.7 percent more compared to 2018, while the number of the employees involved in them was 125,300.
In particular, number of employees in public construction enterprises grew by 7.3 percent, and in private ones – by 14.7 percent.
Moreover, the average monthly wage of workers of construction organizations in relation to 2018 increased by 3.9 percent and amounted to 729.9 manat ($429.3).
In 2019, Azerbaijan's State Housing Development Agency (MIDA) completed the construction of 29 residential buildings, a police station, a kindergarten, a full secondary school and other infrastructure facilities located in Baku with a total area pf 11.6 hectares.
The construction of 53 residential buildings and other social and residential infrastructure facilities in Baku and Sumgayit was continued.
In Ganja, relevant documentation work has begun, related to a permit for the construction of 18 residential buildings, a 1,170-seat full secondary school and other infrastructure facilities on total area of 6.23 hectares.
Five apartments owned by the agency and totally 1,399 apartments were sold, for 1,112 of them relevant sales contracts were executed.
