Uzbekistan refurbishes, puts into operation twenty-year old hotel in Bukhara city

Uzbekistan has completed reconstruction of Zarafshan hotel in Bukhara city, which was built more than 20 years ago, Trend reports citing the State Assets Management Agency.

The agency put the hotel up for auction at zero cost in January 2018 with investment obligations that the new owner had to invest 14 billion soum ($1.3 million) within a year and a half.

"Beston Machinery bought the building. A 200-room hotel (370 beds) was to be opened in May 2019. But, however, in practice, the reconstruction was undertaken by Devel Eco Group LLC, which invested $11 million in the project. The hotel is now called Sahid Zarafshon," the message said.

The hotel complex has a capacity of 296 beds and consists of 148 rooms, including suites, presidential, premium, economy and standard rooms.

The restored hotel has six restaurants, a ceremonial hall, a conference room, three meeting rooms, nightclub, café, winter garden, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a playground and pool for children, fitness club, spa, sauna, billiard room, men's and women's beauty salons, as well as a souvenir shop.
