Azerbaijan, Shaki/ Trend corr. Eguliyev / A ban has been imposed on the sale of poultry in the central poultry market in Aliabad village of Zakatala region of Azerbaijan from 20 September.
Arshad Gudratov, the Director of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Centre of Zakatala region of Azerbaijan, said the ban on the sale of poultry was imposed for prophylactic purposes. The reason for the ban resulted from a recent discovery of bird flu in the Krasnodar region of Russia, the Executive Department of Zakatala region reported.
The blood samples of the chickens were sent to the laboratory for examination.
