Turkey's tourism not effected by Caucasus crisis

The deputy chairman of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers Association of Turkey said that "Not only Russians, but also the Europeans are still coming to Turkey, and there are new bookings for hotels."

A Turkish tourism authority said on Saturday that Turkey's tourism had not been affected by the crisis in the Caucasus.

Yusuf Hacisuleyman, the deputy chairman of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers Association of Turkey (AKTOB), said that tourists continued to came to Turkey for holiday despite the crisis.

"Not only Russians, but also the Europeans are still coming to Turkey, and there are new bookings for hotels," Hacisuleyman told AA correspondent.

Hacisuleyman said that Turkey's Mediterranean province of Antalya would host a record number of tourists this year, and forecast the number over 9 million.
