Tokyo stocks open slightly higher

Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher on Monday in clueless trading, Xinhua reported.

In the first 15 minutes of trading, the benchmark Nikkei-225 index rose 8.36 points, or 0.09 percent, from Friday to 9,794.62.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 3.30 points, or 0.36 percent, to 922. 27. The Second Section advanced.
