Over 250 representatives of 20 countries will assemble in Aktau on Sept. 17 in Aktau to attend the international forum to discuss the prospects of a public-private partnership for the development of local infrastructure," the Spokesman for the Center for Public Private Partnership (PPP), Juliana Zhikhor told Trend .
"The Forum is expected to discuss investment in municipal infrastructure using the PPP mechanism, improvement of legislation and institutional framework in this field, experience in the CIS, as well as around the world," said Zhikhor.
The forum will be attended by Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, the Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, as well as mayors and representatives of municipalities (over 250 people) from 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Korea, U.S., Germany, Holland, Britain, France, Hungary, Belgium, China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, and Finland.
Zhikhor said the forum will also include representatives of the European Economic Commission, a number of centers of PPP from different countries: Kazakhstan (JSC "Kazakhstan Center for Public-Private Partnership"), Russia (the center of PPP in Foreign economic bank, Committee on Investments and Strategic Projects), the Netherlands (center of PPP under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Resources), Korea (center PPP PIMAC), Hungary (center PPP EPPPC), Indonesia (department of public-private partnership of the Agency for the State Development Planning), Germany (the center of PPP in the Ministry of Finance) , the United States (National Council of the U.S. PPP), and Pakistan (Department of infrastructural projects of the Ministry of Finance).
The participants of the discussions on the prospects for the use of PPP arrangements at the local level will comprise potential investors - the world's 12 companies, including KazMunayGas (Kazakhstan), Bombardier Transportation GMBH (Germany), Fulbright & Yaworski (United Kingdom), Aquafin (Belgium), Hyway ( China), Boyugues (France), Alarko (Turkey), Magisters (Russia), Salans (international company), Vegaslex (Russia), Olimpex Advisers (Kazakhstan), Legal Expert (Kazakhstan).
