International Finance Corporation (IFC) jointly with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan intends to hold training sessions for members of the supervisory boards of some 30 banks and companies, said Caroline Bright, the head of the Azerbaijan Corporate Governance Project (ACGP).
"It is expected to hold trainings in November," said Bright. "The list of participants is limited, so most leading banks and companies in the country's economy will be allowed for the participation."
The main purpose of the training is to strengthen the activities of supervisory boards for rapid response in times of crisis and take appropriate action. She said crises are not only global in nature, so banks and companies must be prepared for any situation.
To do this, it is planned to invite world-renowned expert on corporate governance, said Bright.
