The Azerbaijan Economic Development Ministry's National Fund for Entrepreneurship Support announced the results of a tender to establish and repair poultry meat production and broiler farms under a state reliable food supply program covering 2008-2015.
The fund selected eight projects worth 26.9 million manat from 13 proposed investment projects. A total of 17.4 million manat will be provided by the fund. The total cost of the 13 investment proposals was 41 million manat. Roughly 27 million will be received through fund loans.
Two projects are based in the Khizi region, three on the Absheron Peninsula and three in the Imishli, Salyan and Ismailli regions.
The fund's Executive Director Shirzad Abdullayev said the projects will facilitate the production of 60 million eggs and 13 million tons of poultry meat per year. As a result, the country's domestic market chicken egg and poultry meat demand will be fully guaranteed.
"We regard poultry activities as a priority and we will continue our financial support next year. A few companies intend to appeal to us for financial support," Abdullayev said.
Investment proposals are accepted from all economic regions of Azerbaijan, except Baku.
Investment projects should envisage manufacturing chicken and establishing broiler economies, and meeting advanced standards and applying modern technologies. The territory selected for the project should also have the available infrastructure.
