The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan frequently received incomplete and poor quality data, about the activities of ministries and field departments, Turkmen President Qurbanguli Berdimuhamedov said in a special meeting with the president.
The head of state demanded to make conclusions over the notes and take necessary steps to organize the contemporary work, Turkmen President's administration announced.
"It is necessary to ensure accuracy and high quality of strategic reports," Berdimuhamedov added.
Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of transferring Turkmenistan' statistics system to international standards, Berdimuhammedov noted the necessity of applying advanced methods and international experience in the activities of statistics agencies.
Akmirat Mammedov, the chairman of the State Statistics Committee, delivered a report on the work done since the beginning of the year. In this period much work has been done to collect and process statistical data and daily news about seasonal agricultural work.
Mammedov said intensified work is carried out in line with decree on "Holding general census of population and housing fund of Turkmenistan in 2012", dated June 17. In particular, order of holding general census, forms and different tables has been designed.
Berdimuhamedov stated stated this work is carried so slowly. There is a need for comprehensive preparations for this important action, carried out with regard to create large information base for national strategy of social and economic development of the country.
