Kazakhstan intends to sell four million tons of wheat as flour abroad in the current marketing year, the Grain Union chairman Nurlan Tleubayev told Trend.

"There is a tendency that the export of flour in grain equivalent will be higher than the export of wheat in a pure form. The problem of wheat export with high added value will be resolved this year," Tleubayev said.

More than 97 percent of Kazakh flour export go to Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan) and Afghanistan.

Tleubayev said that Russia will not buy large volumes of Kazakh grain due to their high cost.

"Central Asia and Afghanistan will give the best price for grain," the Grain Union chairman said.

He said that Georgia will not buy Kazakh wheat either because it is advantageous to buy German and Hungarian wheat in the port of Poti. The export volumes to Azerbaijan will reduce after the new year.
