Iran to build agro-industry complex in Sudan
Iran will establish an agro-industry complex in Sudan, the Iranian agriculture minister announced here on Saturday.
Sedeq Khalilian said in a meeting with his Sudanese counterpart here that a plot of land has been chosen for the project and operations on it will soon be started.
"Iran is willing to produce wheat and sugar in the land and transfer Iranian know-how in related industries to that country," he added.
The minister pointed out that the Islamic Republic can erect a paper factory, export technical and engineering services, agricultural machinery and modern irrigation equipment as well as hold training courses in Sudan.
The Sudanese Agriculture Minister Abdel-Halim Al-Mut'afi expressed interest in Iran holding training courses in his country for specialists and said, "Expanding research between the two countries, and benefiting from the Iranians experience in the fields of wheat, and economic cooperation among the two states farmers are on our agenda."
