An upcoming Azerbaijan-Poland business forum will expand cooperation between the two countries, Azerbaijani Deputy Economic Development Minister Niyazi Safarov said today.

"Azerbaijan has economic and trade relations with more than 140 foreign countries, including Poland," he said. "At present, the relations between Poland and Azerbaijan are developing at a high level. The two governments hold regular meetings. This business forum is intended to intensify ties between the two countries."

Azerbaijani Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Gulmammad Javadov said Polish business representatives will be able to establish ties with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs during the forum. As a result, advanced technologies will be introduced in Azerbaijan, he said.

The trade turnover between the two countries is $93 million. A positive growth rate was seen in 2010, Polish Economy Minister Dariusz Bogdan said.

"Poland has a favorable environment for investments," he said. "Young specialists are involved in such areas as agriculture, industry, medicine, processing industry and research centers. I hope this business forum will open new prospects for dialogue between our two countries."
