EIU: Iran's GDP to increase by $44 bln in 2010

Iran's GDP will increase by more than $ 44 billion in 2010, Economist Intelligence Unit's report (EIU) said, ISNA agency reported.

According to the EIU forecasts, published in November 2010, Iran's GDP last year was $367.2 billion. EIU predicts an increase in Iran's GDP this year by $44.6 billion up to $411.8 billion.

Iran's GDP is expected to increase by $60.9 billion up to $472.7 billion next year, and in 2012 - by $72.5 billion up to $545.2 billion.

According to the International Monetary Fund's report 'Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia,' the GDP growth rate of Iran will amount to 1.6 percent in 2010, which is one of the worst indicators on the percentage equivalent among the Middle East and Central Asian countries. In 2009, real GDP growth of Iran was 1.1 percent and the figure is expected to reach 3 percent in 2011.

The volume of nominal GDP of Iran is projected in the amount of $337.9 billion in 2010. The figure will hit $342.3 billion, which is the highest in the Middle East region after Saudi Arabia's nominal GDP at $434.4 billion.
