Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 21 /Trend, N.Kirtskhalia/
In 2010, the Government of Georgia repaid 170 million lari ($1 = 1.76 lari) to businessmen, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a Cabinet meeting. According to him, this is the amount which was received by the budget in the form of VAT and returned back to the business development within the initiative of the Georgian President.
"574 companies received the money back, and they focus on business development and production," said Gilauri.
According to him, such a refund, which became possible as a result of GDP growth, is a positive impact on business and economic development in Georgia as a whole.
"This year's GDP growth rate was 6 percent, and in the fourth quarter, revenue from VAT rose by 32 percent, which will also affect the economic growth in the country," said the prime minister.
