Azerbaijani banks' total assets increase by 14 percent in 2010

Total assets of Azerbaijani banks as of Jan.1, 2011 amounted to 13.29 billion manat, which is 4.7 percent more compared to early December 2010, and 13.9 percent - at the beginning of last year, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said.

Banks' investments amounted to 1070.04 million manat, increasing in 2010 by 28 percent, loans allocated to customers - 8574.25 million manat (7.7 percent). The volume of loans and deposits issued by the financial sector amounted to 524.67 million manat, decreasing by 12.5 percent. Funds on correspondent accounts for the period amounted to 1507.97 million manat, increasing by 78.5 percent. Cash of Azerbaijani banks as of Jan. 1, 2010 amounted to 488.02 million manat, increasing by 4.7 percent.

Total liabilities of Azerbaijani banks as of Jan. 1, 2010 amounted to 11.122 billion manat, increasing by 15.1 percent in 2010. About 5 165.35 million manat falls to deposits, and 5 141.49 million manat - loans and deposits received from the financial market.
