Trend interviews Azerbaijani Tariff Council Secretary Elshan Asadov

Trend: Are new water tariffs being applied to production facilities using water as a raw material?

Asadov: No. Tariffs in some spheres were reviewed and new tariffs were defined at a Tariff Council meeting on Jan. 31. Water tariffs for entities who use water as a raw material were left unchanged when defining the new tariffs.

For the sake of clarity, I would like to add that the group of consumers using water as a raw material includes beer, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverage producers. For this group, the tariffs were kept unchanged and increased prices are not expected.

Q: One issue today is that many entities are interested in energy prices.

- As the Tariff Council stated earlier, price hikes on energy, specifically gasoline, diesel fuel, electricity, and natural gas, are not expected. In general, the structures related to these sectors have not appealed to the Tariff Council and the council is not holding any discussions in this regard.
