An agreement has been reached at the level of the IMF on the successful completion of the ninth review of the economic program in support of Georgia, the head of the IMF mission to Georgia, Edward Gardner said at a press conference.
He said that the current program started in Georgia on Sept.15, 2008, and envisaged allocation of approximately $774 million. Gardner stressed that the decision dated Aug. 6, 2009, under the program. The available amount increased to about $1.213 million and the program was prolonged until June 14, 2011.
The agreement on the successful completion of the ninth review of the economic program in support for Georgia has already been reached at the level of the IMF, but Gardner believes that the agreement requires approval by the IMF and the ruling board.
"The program will presumably be reviewed in June. After completing this process, the last tranche under the program, amounting to approximately $114 million, will become available to Georgia," Gardner said.
