Iran will increase highway routes and railways by the end of solar year (March 20, 2012), ISNA reported quoting Acting Minister of Roads and Transportation Ali Nikzad as saying.
Iran invested an estimate of $5 billion to launch the highway routes and new transportation systems, he said.
Reducing road injuries and accident to 10 percent are among the priorities of Roads and Transportation ministry.
The construction of 7,500 kilometers railway , 2.800 kilometers freeway, 5,500 kilometers highway and 7.800 kilometers main roads . While reforming the technical systems and increasing the quality are on the agenda.
Iran will use private sectors to implement the construction of new roads, he noted.
