"AtaBank" OJSC has launched negotiations with world's second international payment system MasterCard Europe Sprl. Negotiation process is expected to finish before the end of the year. AtaBank's connection to the new system will create new opportunities and additional choice for its customers.
The Bank's management considers that issue of new cards will serve an impetus for expansion of the client base. At the same time the AtaBank's cash machines will start accepting cards MasterCard and Maestro/Cirrus. In addition, the Bank will become a full member of international payment system MasterCard Europe Sprl. The Bank is also planning to get license Merchant Acquiring.
AtaBank has been co-operating with international payment system Visa, being its full member, since 2004. The number of cards the Bank has issued reached 22,000. The Bank has 59 cash machines and 345 POS-terminals.
MasterCard Europe Sprl collaborates with 10 banks in Azerbaijan. MasterCard Europe Sprl is a sponsor of the most prestigious international competitions on football: European Championship, World Cup, UEFA Champions League. In this regard, AtaBank also plans to participate in such projects.
