The newly launched TRACECA LOGMOS (ENPI East Logistics Process and Motorways of the Sea II) project will focus on the promotion of both the Motorways of the Sea and Logistics Centres initiatives under an integrated TRACECA-wide plan, ENPI reported.
The overall objective of the project, which will have a regional project office in Kyiv, is to contribute to the long-term sustainable development of the logistics infrastructure and multimodal transport along the TRACECA corridor. It will also enhance the development and implementation of coherent strategies for establishing intermodal integrated transport and logistics chains.
The project follows on from three previous EU-funded TRACECA projects: Motorways of the Sea (MoS) for the Black Sea and Caspian Sea, International Logistical Centres for Western NIS and Caucasus, and International Logistical Centres for Central Asia.
TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) is an international transport cooperation programme between the EU and its Partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. It has a permanent Secretariat in Baku, Azerbaijan. The cooperation framework covers the areas of maritime transport, aviation, road and rail, transport security, and transport infrastructure.
