The first international cotton products exhibition-fair of Turkmenistan will be held from 7 to 9 November 2011 in the exhibition hall "Sergi Koshgi", the Turkmenpagta State Concern said.
Organizers are "Turkmenpagta", the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded recently conducting continuous monitoring of world demand for cotton and price trends in this sphere. This year, cotton was sown in 550,000 hectares of land.
In 2010, contractual obligations were over-implemented, about 1.3 million tons of cotton were collected instead of the planned 1.05 million tons.
