Azerbaijan, Baku, July 8 / Trend S.Aliyev /

Azerbaijan's Ganja Car Plant will begin to assemble heavy trucks under a memorandum of cooperation recently signed with the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MWTP), the Chairman of the Ganja Car Plant Supervisory Board Khanlar Fatiyev told Trend.

Fatiyev said the memorandum of cooperation will allow an increase in the number of the plant's workers to up to 1,000 people.

The document was undersigned during Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich's visit to the Ganja Car Plant.

Assembling the tractor will begin in the new workshop, which provides an area of 20,000 square meters to work in, Fatiyev said.

The Ganja Car Plant, established in 2004, assembles Minsk Tractor Plant products for the domestic market. The contract for the assembly and sale of the whole range of trucks and tractors of the Minsk automobile and tractor plants in Azerbaijan was signed in late November.

The Ganja Car Plant is capable of assembling up to 1,000 trucks and 2,000 tractors per year. The plant also assembles Belarusian tractors.
